The Secretary is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the Committee.

ACYA - National Secretary

The National Secretary is an Elected Position on the ACYA National Executive and is a member of ACYA's Board of Directors. The National Secretary is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the National President and Executive Committee.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable governance mechanisms for ACYA;
  • Serve as caretaker of the ACYA Constitution including overseeing amendments;
  • Conduct the Annual General Meeting of ACYA;
  • Record and issue Minutes of Executive Committee Quarterly Meetings;
  • Monitor recruitment to ensure a fair and consistent process;
  • Support core initiatives such as ACELS; and
  • Represent ACYA in public forums, as and when required.

Requirements

  • Time commitment of ~10 hours/week;
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
  • Experience managing stakeholder relations and partnerships;
  • (Optional but preferred) Demonstrated event management experience; and
  • (Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
