ACYA - Translations Officer

The translations officer will work with the Translations Director to translate materials for the ACYA website, social media platforms, publications, newsletters and other miscellaneous documents.

Responsibilities

• To translate materials, mainly from English to Chinese, occasionally Chinese to English
• Conduct necessary background research relevant to the pieces of writing needing to be translated, to ensure accuracy and faithfulness
• Edit and review translation work written by other officers, providing constructive feedback and suggestions

Requirements

• Near-native level of fluency in both Chinese and English in terms of reading and writing
• Strong interest in the Australia-China relationship and ACYA activities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organisational, time-management and prioritisation skills
• Experience working in a team
